Best Places to Shop in Dallas

The fourth largest metropolitan area in the United States may be best known for exciting professional sports franchises, but running a close second are all the amazing places to shop within the Dallas – Ft. Worth area. Dallas is the go-to destination in Texas for all things fashion, beginning with the flagship store and corporate headquarters of Neiman Marcus located at 1618 Main St. The store was built in the early 1900’s and has 4 floors of shopping and a 5th floor museum.

You haven’t been to Dallas until you have shopped at the enormous Galleria Dallas. Within the confines of this popular Dallas mall, you’ll find a magnificent selection of over 200 stores, over 20 restaurants, and one of the largest collections of designer boutiques found in the Dallas – Ft. Worth area-including Karen Millen, Gucci and Louis Vuitton. Leading department stores at the Galleria Dallas include Nordstrom and Saks Fifth Avenue. The mall is located at 13350 Dallas Parkway in Dallas. Keeping with the upscale Dallas mall theme is the fabulous NorthPark Center Mall in the University Park area of Dallas. NorthPark is an upscale mainstay with a gargantuan 200,000 square foot Nordstrom and a Barney’s New York. Combine that with Dillard’s, Macy’s and Neiman Marcus, and you have shopping nirvana. If you prefer your Dallas shopping outdoors, check out the fashionable Highland Park Village. Not to be outdone by its sister city, Fort Worth has a few delicious shopping destinations of its own. The popular Ridgmar Mall located on Green Oaks Road features a nice selection of stores like Neiman Marcus, Forever 21, Aeropostal, Dillard’s, Macy’s and more. The Hulen Mall in Ft. Worth houses around 120 stores, including Dillard’s, Macy’s, Forever 21, Coach, and Aerie. And rounding out the shopping selection in Ft. Worth is University Park Village. The Southlake Town Square in Southlake, northwest of Dallas, is an open-air shopping delight, featuring popular stores like Aeropostale, Pottery Barn, Williams-Sonoma, bebe and many others. Collin Creek Mall, also in the large Dallas suburb of Plano is a traditional neighborhood mall with Dillard’s and Macy’s. The Town East Mall in Mesquite TX, located east of Dallas, is another nice traditional neighborhood mall, along with Firewheel Town Center in Garland TX, northeast of Dallas. And finally, there is Watters Creek in Allen TX. An open-air mall with popular retailers like Francesca’s Collections, Gymboree, DSW, LOFT and more.
