Job Title: Divisional Merchandise Manager – Misses Division
This position is responsible for developing and managing merchandising and marketing strategies, maximizing profitability, controlling sales, margins and inventory turns. This position is also responsible for supervising the buying of product assortments for a specific division of merchandise to support company goals to maximize sales.
Must be at work on a regular and predictable basis or as scheduled.
Establish and implement merchandise plan and strategy through strong buying, planning and placement skills to ensure performance to plan.
Supervise and assist merchandising teams in the development strategy regarding the assortment and inventory levels on new and core products.
Achieve brand and financial objectives for a class of merchandise and direct merchandising team to achieve same objectives.
Develop budgets for departments, classes and teams.
Plan inventory levels for season, department or class and partner with the planning group to set and achieve goals.
Lead, coach and develop merchandising teams to optimize sales and profit.
Develop a cohesive effort with the Business Managers to execute agreed upon plans.
Provide Trend Direction to the entire Merchandising Department.
Travel 25% of the time to oversee and participate in market trips.
Work closely with the marketing department to implement strategies.
Follow company policies and procedures and maintain a safe work environment.
Education and Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in fashion merchandising, business management or related field preferred.
- Prior DMM level experience preferred.
- Minimum of five years prior experience in buying preferred.
- 10 years prior retail experience preferred.
